HOW TO JUMP START YOUR CAR
Jump starting your car does not have to be a hard task. First lay out the cables on the ground between the two cars. Make sure that the cable is not tangled and none of the end clamps are touching each other. The car with the good battery should be running.

Step 1: Take the positive (red) clamp closest to the car with the good battery and hook it to the positive terminal of that car. The positive terminal will have a + sign on it and usually a red wire running to it.

Step 2: Repeat this step on the car with the bad battery, hooking up the positive clamp to the positive terminal on the battery. Make sure the clamps are contacting well and can not fall off.

Step 3: Take the negative cable (black) closest to the car with the good battery and hook it to the negative terminal of the battery. The negative terminal will have a - sign and usually a black wire running to it.

Step 4: This is the last step and the most important. Take the negative clamp closest to the car with the bad battery and attach it to a bare metal part of the engine. DO NOT hook it to the batteries negative terminal as there maybe hydrogen gas present from the battery and a spark from the connection could cause an explosion.

That's it... turn the key on the dead car and the car should start!

PAT MARTIN'S "OFFICIAL" BIO

His on-air vocal range varies more than a pubescent teenager. From high and perky to sultry and macho, Pat Martin has been a staple of the Sacramento Work Force radio audience for over a decade. How he's been able to keep his job that long is a mystery to everyone! People would be shocked to learn that Pat holds a B.S. in Law, Medicine, Psychiatry, Engineering, and Physics... not to mention a B.S. in BS! And now, the REAL story:

Pat did, in fact, attend San Diego State majoring in Film. As a self-admitted music freak (operative word freak), he did an air shift at campus station KCR. During the summer break, Pat decided to try to get a radio gig. Much to his amazement, he actually landed a job at tiny KZIQ in Ridgecrest, California. Much to the station's amazement, he actually showed up. Duties included hosting the "morning tractor drive" shift, Music Director, selling air time (unsuccessfully), and sweeping the studio floor once in awhile. The cockroaches were nuclear-sized. After three months, the $490 dollar a month salary and glamorous lifestyle was too much to handle, and it was back to school in San Diego. It was there that the Program Director of the big rock station, KGB-FM, heard Pat on the local college station and offered him a job. Weekends at first, then full time at the ripe old age of 20.

Pat stayed at KGB-FM for about a decade, with a one year break to take a job at the legendary KMET in Los Angeles. When the Mighty Met changed formats to a jazz station called "The Wave", Pat was washed down the shore back to San Diego. In 1988, KRXQ in Sacramento called to inquire if Pat was ready for a change. He was. They promised him a new transmitter and studios, and a lucrative six-figure salary package. On August 8th, 1988, Pat did his first full time air shift on 93 Rock. Since then, not a lot has changed except the station's frequency. 98 Rock has been Pat's radio home ever since.
